These inscriptions were taken from the headstones before the Scales headstone was knocked down, thus obscuring the insriptions on both headstones. Scales Headstone (originally upright): Erected by M. Scales M.D. in memory of his father John Scales who died in 1873 and his mother Julia Scales nee Corbett who died in 1897. Also his sister Mary who died 1887 and his sister Julia Scales who died 22nd May 1932 aged 64 years. Also the above Martin Scales M.D. died 22nd Oct 1932 aged 78 years and his sister Mrs Bridget Robinson (nee Scales) died 22nd Nov 1940 aged 74 years. Corbett Headstone (now obscured by the above headstone): Erected by Timothy Corbett in memory of his father Michael Corbett who dept this life Feb 1899 (or 1822) aged 67 years. May he rest in peace.
Flynn Headstone, St Flannan's Cathedral Graveyard, Killaloe. The inscription reads: Erected in Loving Memory of James Flynn, Killaloe, who died 27th June 1915 aged 78 years. And his son Francis aged 2 months. Also his grand-son Patrick Joseph, aged 8 months. Also Francis Flynn, died 30th Sep. 1959 aged 79 years. And his wife Mary Flynn, died 7th June 1967. R.I.P. James Flynn, died Sept 30 1988 aged 74 years.
Kerin Headstone, St Flannan's Cathedral Graveyard, Killaloe. The inscription reads: In Loving Memory of Mary Josephine Kerin (nee Flynn), died 26th Oct 1996. Rest in Peace.
Harrold Headstone, St Flannan's Cathedral Graveyard, Killaloe. The inscription reads: In Loving Memory of Patrick Harrold, Killaloe, died 12th April 1920 aged 66 years. Also his beloved wife Anne Harrold, died 8th December 1934 aged 71 yrs. Isabella Harrold, died 13th Aug 1953 aged 53 yrs. R.I.P. Erected by his loving wife and family.
Benson Headstone, St Flannan's Cathedral Graveyard, Killaloe. The inscription reads: In Ever Loving Memory of Margaret, beloved wife of Howard W. Benson of Templehollow, Killaloe, died 10th June 1946 aged 26 years. William W. Benson of Dalkey, Co. Dublin, died 25th May 1950 aged 68 years. Also his beloved wife Rosetta, died 1st January 1962 aged 79 years. Howard W. Benson (Founder of Benson Box), died 1st October 2009 aged 93 years.
Walshe Headstone, St Flannan's Cathedral Graveyard, Killaloe. The inscription reads: In Loving Memory of David Denis Walshe, born October 16th 1894, died December 17th 1895. R.I.P.
Thompson Headstone, St Flannan's Cathedral Graveyard, Killaloe. The inscription reads: Erected by Henry Payne Thompson in memory of his children, Christopher Patrick, Henry Joseph and Harriett Christina. The above Henry Payne Thompson, died August 1st 1935 and his daughter, Marion Rose Thompson, died 11th May 1941. R.I.P.

Erected by William Courtney M.D. J.P. of Nenagh in memory of his beloved children. William John, born Oct 14th 1888, died May 28th 1890. Margaret, born August 25th 1894, died Sep 6th 1894. Kathleen Marie, born May 20th 1898, died May 26th 1898. Thomas Vincent, born Jan 28th 1894, died April 3rd 1904. Elizabeth (Lily), died May 10th 1918 aged 25 years. James Lynch, died Sep 24th 1920 aged 24 years. May they rest in peace amen. And of the above named Dr. William Courtney, Medical Officer of Nenagh Dispensary 1886 – 1936, who died 2nd March 1936 aged 80 years and who was interred at Lisboney, Nenagh.
Spice Headstone, St Flannan's Cathedral Graveyard, Killaloe. The inscription reads: Here rest the mortal remains of William Henry Spice of Notting Hill, London, who died July 4th 1853 aged 36 years. So teach us to number our days that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom. Psalm XC 12.
Byrne Headstone, St Flannan's Cathedral Graveyard, Killaloe. The inscription reads: Sacred to the memory of Mary Byrne, who died 18th October 1927, for 29 years the valued & faithful friend of Major & Mrs H Lefroy of Cambral, Killaloe, by whom this stone is erected. St. Matthew xxv 23. R.I.P.
Lynch Headstone, St Flannan's Cathedral Graveyard, Killaloe. The inscription reads: In Loving Memory of Olive Lynch, died May 12th 1977, and her loving husband Jack Lynch, died Sept 11th 2001. R.I.P.
Stokes Headstone, St Flannan's Cathedral Graveyard, Killaloe. The inscription reads: In Loving Memory of Hannah Stokes, died May 6th 1948. R.I.P. Also In Loving Memory of her husband, Captain Arthur Oliver Stokes M.C., died December 2nd 1969. And their only son, Squadron Leader Maurice Arthur Stokes M.B. R.A.F., died May 24th 1958, buried in war cemetery at Harbanya, Iraq. At the going down of the sun and in the morning we shall remember them.
Dawson Headstone, St Flannan's Cathedral Graveyard, Killaloe. The inscription reads: Underneath this stone lieth the body of Henrietta Dawson, the beloved wife of Charles Paul Dawson of Castle Dawson in the county of Londonderry. She departed this life on the 15th of March 1848 aged 46 years. “She now rests in peace with the blessed spirits of the just made [illegible] that mansion where true joys alone are to be found.” Here are also interred the remains of Charles Dawson Esq., who died Jan 30 1855 aged 57 years.
Bourke Headstone, St Flannan's Cathedral Graveyard, Killaloe. The inscription reads: In Memory of Jane E. (Jennie) Bourke, who died 8 December 1987, beloved wife of Very Rev. Francis R. Bourke Phd, Dean of Killaloe, who died 17 September 2001. “I know that my Redeemer liveth.”
Wilkinson Headstone, St Flannan's Cathedral Graveyard, Killaloe. The inscription reads: Sacred to the memory of Samuel Wilkinson, who died 2nd August 1932, for 38 years gardener & faithful friend of the Lefroys, Ferns Hollow, who with his sisters and brother have erected this stone.

The inscription reads: Erected by his wife & children in loving & abiding memory of John Keogh M.D. J.P., medical officer Annacarriga & Portroe 1875 – 90, who died at his residence, The Cottage, Killaloe, 6th July 1910 in the 67th year of his age. O Lord hear our prayer, may he rest in peace amen.

Also of Susan his wife, daughter of William Henn Esq., Master in Chancery, born 24th August 1785, died 19th April 1865.
Mayne Headstone, St Flannan's Cathedral Graveyard, Killaloe. The inscription reads: Captain Dawson Mayne, died September 25th 1872 aged 72 years. Frances Rebecca Mayne, died October 23rd 1872 aged 64 years.
Mitchell Headstone, St Flannan's Cathedral Graveyard, Killaloe. The inscription reads: In memory of Willie, dearly loved son of Revd Percy & Mary Toler Mitchell, who died at Tomgraney Rectory St Stephen’s Day 1899 aged 3 years and 7 months. “Of such is the Kingdom of God.” One less on Earth one more in Heaven, One more for whom to watch and weep and pray, One more for whom praise should be given, Free from the trials that compass our ways.
