Merriman Statue, Ennistymon. Inscription at the base of the Brian Merriman statue in Ennistymon marking the 200th anniversary of his death. Inscription reads: Poet Brian Merriman c. 1747 - 1805. Author of "the Midnight Court", Cuirt an Mheadhon Oidhche. Ba ghnáth me ag riubhal le ciumhuir na habhan, ar bháinreach úr 'r an drúcht go trom, in aice na gcoillte i gcoim an trléibhe, gan mhairg gan mhoill ar rhoillre an lae. Erected 27-7-2005. Sculpted by Shane Gilmore.
